Tag 1 Ankunft: Windhoek - Sesriem

Welcome to Namibia!

After your arrival at Windhoek International Airport – if possible you should arrive in the morning – you will be met by your German-speaking Rafiki-X-Dream Safaris guide. Afterwards the journey goes through the Khomas highland, along the Naukluft mountains to Sesriem. In the middle of the Namib-Naukluft-Park lies the Sossusvlei. Here are the highest dunes in the world. With heights of up to 300 meters, the sand mountains rise like an amphitheater around the huge salt pan, also called Vlei.

Tag 2: Sesriem

Shortly before sunrise we drive to Sossusvlei to the highest dunes in the world, Death Vlei and the canyon in Sossusvlei National Park. An approx. 1-2 hour hike in the dunes and to Death Valley is on the program. On the way back we will visit the Tsauchab- Naukluft Canyon followed by a hike. Around noon we are back at our accommodation and can relax at the pool.

Tag 3: Sesriem - Swakopmund

Along the Naukluft Mountains, via Ghaub – and Kuiseb- Pass we drive to Walvis Bay. Here you can admire the flamingos at the lagoon. Afterwards we continue to the coastal town of Swakopmund.

Day 4 and 5: Swakopmund

These days are available for Swakopmund and surroundings. Enjoy the colonial flair, during a stroll through the city, visit the aquarium, the crystal gallery or visit the historical museum. The collections on display include native plants, animals, minerals, findings and artifacts from prehistoric and early history, and cultural and historical items from earlier times. The exhibition “People in Namibia” is also unique and instructive. It shows the emergence of a nation against the traditional background of Namibia’s various ethnic groups.
In addition, you have the option of a boat trip with observation of seals, dolphins and pelicans, explore the Little Big Five on a Living Desert Tour, ride a quad bike through the dunes or look at Swakopmund with its magnificent dune landscape from above, for example. skydiving or in a small plane.
Important: these activities are not included in the price and should be booked at least one day in advance.

Tag 6: Swakopmund - Cape Cross - Brandberg

From Swakopmund the drive goes via Henties Bay to the seal colony – Cape Cross at Mile 70. On the flat and inhospitable coastal section lies Cape Cross, famous for its seal colony. The Cape Cross Seal Reserve is just one of 24 colonies on the southwest African coast. Between 80,000 and 100,000 pygmy fur seals, also known as eared seals, cavort on the rocks at Cape Cross – which is not only an extraordinary sight, but also brings extreme stench and noise. After an approx. 1 hour visit to the seal colony we continue to the Ugab. Here at the Brandberg, the highest mountain in Namibia, we spend the night in the wild and romantic Wild Lady Lodge. Here you can see with a little luck the rare desert elephants.

Tag 7: Brandberg

Today we go on a game drive in the Uga River, with some luck we manage to see the rare desert elephants. If you wish, you can later join a guided flora and fauna hike to the “White Lady”, an ancient Bushman rock drawing in the Tsisab Gorge of the Brandberg Massif. The drawing was rediscovered by French historian Henri Breuil and described as a white lady. Meanwhile, it is assumed that it is a warrior or a shaman. However, the name White Lady has been retained to this day.
In the afternoon we go on a game drive in the Ugab River, with a little luck we manage to see the rare desert elephants.

Tag 8: Brandberg - Outjo

After breakfast we will drive from Brandberg via Kamanjab to Outjo. At Sophienhof, you can watch the cheetahs being fed and have up-close contact with these endangered, fastest cats in the world.

Tag 9: Kamanjab - Etosha Nationalpark

We leave Kamanjab and drive to Etosha National Park. The Etosha Pan is a salt pan of vast proportions in the 22,000 km² game-rich national park. We reach our accommodation in the afternoon, after we have refreshed our we undertake the first gamedrive. Later you will have the opportunity to observe the thirsty animals at the illuminated waterhole.

Tag 10: Etosha Nationalpark

We will do more game drives in Etosha National Park today. During the game drives you have good opportunities to see large herds of antelopes and with a little luck also lions and rhinos.

Tag 11: Etosha Nationalpark - Hoba Meteorit - Grootfontein

We undertake a last gamedrive and leave the national park. Our journey continues via the “garden city” of Tsumeb to Grootfontein. Near Grootfontein we visit the Hoba Meteorite, the second largest meteorite in the world. Its estimated age is 190 to 410 million years. After this visit we continue to our accommodation near Grootfontein.

Tag 12:: Buschmannland

Today we will visit the “oldest people in the world”, the San (Bushmen). In a traditional Living Museum you will get an insight into the daily life and traditions of the San (Bushmen). After this interesting excursion into another world you can relax at the pool or go for a hike on the farm.

Tag 13: Grootfontein - Omaruru

It goes back. If there is interest, we can visit the farm Tonningii. This is a family run winery in the picturesque Otavi Mountains. Here a guided tour of Namibian vineyards followed by wine tasting will take place. Around 17.00 we reach our accommodation in Omaruru.

Day 14: Return flight

Drive to Windhoek and return flight in the evening
